George Adamson's death remembered

Kenya Wildlife services (KWS) organised a big event on 20th August to commemorate the 21st anniversary of George Adamson's death.  The event took place in Kora National Park with the main ceremony of the day being held at the graves of George and Terence Adamson.

The Assistant Director and Senior Wardens came to pay their respects and to talk about Kora's future as a National Park.  Representatives from the two closest communities were also present, as well as the local judiciary.  Assistant Director, Mr Kagiri, spoke of the plans to rehabilitate Kora, as did Warden Mark Cheruiyot.  Tony also gave a short talk.

It was a moving occassion with a new generation of Kenyans paying their respects to George, his work, his vision and his love of wildlife
